Welcome to Knickerbocker MaritimeKnickerbocker
Maritime (KM) specializes in commercial shipping projects in the tanker,
dry bulk and ship management areas.
Knickerbocker
Maritime believes that being proactive is the key to being in a position
to capitalize on market opportunities, hedging potential threats and weaknesses
as well as develop new markets. Being proactive covers all areas from
regulatory and commercial developments to monitoring events that can (and
will) affect shipping that are outside of the industry's immediate control. Knickerbocker
also believes that various aspects of shipping cannot be fully separated
from each other—that is, what happens at the chartering desk affects what
the ship’s superintendents can and cannot do. Projects for market development incorporate improvements and identification of markets and trades that particularly fit the client.
Knickerbocker’s
principals have a successful record with various projects including the
world’s first HBL vessel (Stena Convoy), development and implementation
of the world’s leading maritime purchasing system (iShipExchange/ShipServ),
technical project management for high profile new market tanker projects
and working with Class Societies in rule development. The principals of
Knickerbocker are also recognized to leading experts in transportation
of shipping drinking water. Knickerbocker has experience with US Flag/Jones
Act trades as well as extensive experience in the “classic” international
shipping markets. Knickerbocker
Maritime maintains close relationships with Class Societies, regulatory/NGO
agencies, engineers, shipyards, suppliers, ship owners, shipbrokers, flag
states, universities, professional societies and merchant banks. Knickerbocker
Maritime capitalizes on its New York City location to constantly evaluate
the world’s economic and political climate to gauge the effects on shipping.
